WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Bible

We believe the Bible to be in fact the Word of God, (1 Thessalonians 2:13). It is inspired by God, and written as men were moved by the spirit. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21).We believe that God has preserved His word for us today (Psalms 12:6-7) and that men today have God’s word in the English language that we may grow and prosper in our relationship with Him. The Bible is without error, and is the absolute and final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

Salvation

We believe that salvation from the penalty of sin is a gift of God, given to us because of His grace, not our works. (Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9).This salvation is available to us because God paid the price for our sins with the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. (John 3:16, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Colossians 1:14).Salvation is imparted to individuals when they make a choice to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and become born again. (Romans 10:9-10, 13; John 3:3).

Fundamentals of the Faith

We believe in all the historical, fundamental doctrines of the faith as taught by the bible including the Virgin Birth, Deity of Christ, the trinity, the Vicarious atonement, Bodily resurrection, Second coming of Christ, the Eternal security of the believer, the existence of heaven and hell and the pre-tribulation rapture of the church.

Separation of Church and State

We believe in the authority of the local church and its separation from political and state entanglements. We believe in the freedom of religion and choice for all men, and that neither the church nor the state may impose its convictions or beliefs upon the individual.

Baptism

We believe in believer’s baptism, which is by immersion as prescribed in the bible. This is not essential for salvation, but rather is a demonstration of the faith the believer has in the putting away of his sins and expectancy of the resurrection.
